It only seems logical to equip high-end vehicles with double pane glass windows to keep the cold out/in. Although, now that I think about it, it may not work because the outer glass may stay cold enough to freeze therefor creating a problem while driving. I'll put some more thought into this idea.

Think this is a great idea. Should at least be an option or available as an aftermarket install somehow. Don't think you'd need to worry about the ice, as long as it has a powerful enough defrost I think enough heat would get through to still melt it. And if not that's what ice scrapers are for! Also electric defrost running through the windows could take care of it as well.
