Granny Alert Doorbell System

076/365

I recently went to visit my grama, she don't get around as much as she use to and it took awhile for her to get to the front door. By the time she made it there I had already went to the back door (bc i was born with tiger blood) and knocked. She walked towards the back and I went around front. It was a real Abbot and Costello bit for a few minutes before I was finally able to catch her at a door.

This gave me the idea for a notification system that informs the doorbell ringer that the person in the house recognizes someone is at the door and they should wait there until they make it there. This would end a lot of confusion and needless walking (even though walking is for winners).

Traditional Redesign: Magnet Hangers

068/365

I run into this problem where I never have a place to store my gym clothes so they can dry. (yes, I wear my gym clothes a few times before I wash them.. like when the stink get too stinky.)

I've designed a wire frame attached to a magnet that could be fixed to a coat tree type stand or the inside of a gym locker.

The shirt and shorts design hold the cloth so it do not bunch and can dry faster.

Light, magnetic and cheap. The way I like it.

Articulating Hairdryer Arm

065/365

Inspired by my aunt asking me to invent something to hold her hairdryer while she used both hands on her hair. This articulating arm clamps the hairdryer on one end and plugs into an Edison outlet for mounting on the other. The arm is fully adjustable with knuckles at the base, middle and clamp. The plug plugs through the mounting base and the arm is spring loaded for simple manipulation. The knuckles are tight enough to hold any standard hairdryer yet loose enough to be moved fluidly.

The original socket cover would have to be replaced with a custom plate manufactured with a quick lock/release mechanism in the center. This would allow the arm to be disconnected to be stored. The base of the arm should to be attached to the top of the plate so the rest of the plate can carry the torsional load of the arm and the hairdryer.

Snow Kicker-off-er

052/365

I've noticed more and more people kick the snow off their boots/shoes before stepping into their homes. This usually happens right at the door just before entering which leaves one of two loactions to put that big boot print.. the door or the siding. This is a problem because it mars the surface. I suggest a decorative yet sturdy block bolted to the porch or siding that displays the house number. Functional and practical all year.

Solving the Dust Problem

013/365

I'm not sure how practical this would be (or even if it would work) but if you put little vents at the top of walls and at the bottom of them and you flowed high pressure air such that it travels along hugging the walls, floors and anything else like furniture, it could carry dust with it before it has a chance to collect. The airflow would have to be unobtrusive but if it was designed correctly, it could double as an AC/Heating system. This would not cover all surfaces but it could take care of dust in places that are difficult to dust, like under desks. The entire premise is to dust before dust can collect.
