Fix Cracked Screens with Resin

Yesterday I dropped my iPhone 4 face down onto concrete.. Guess what happened? Yeah, the screen cracked and now I'm getting glass slivers in my fingers and ears. Now what do I do? Get a replacement from Apple for $199? Or I could try out my latest innovation: Use my secret magical crack resin on the screen of my iPhone.

My theory: The magical crack filler can be used to stop further cracks in the glass of any device and make the glass look better and still be functional. Concerns: If the resin drips below the outer glass between the glass and the LCD and would hinder the operation of the device. Complications: If this doesn't work I may not be able to return the device to Apple for a $199 switcheroo.

This product would open up a whole new market. Look at the broken device market buymytronics, gazelle, squidoo, etc. I bet a large portion of returned devices are simple aesthetic cracks. And given the opportunity, the user would just have just fixed themselves.

Run iOS on PC/Mac

Imagine a virtual machine that mimics the iPhone/iPod/iPad OS of Android so anyone could download apps and use them on a PC or Mac. This VM could be a more streamlined (less functional) operating system but allow the app market to be opened up to more devices. This would be the first step toward complete app world domination.

Doing this would attract users without an iPhone/iPod/iPad and they'd increase app usage and purchase from the App Store. For instance, say a person without an iPhone/iPod/iPad wants to play Words for Free with Friends, they can't do it! That is, unless of course, they can download a virtual machine that allows them to do so. I'm sure Apple's reasoning has something to do with forcing users to purchase these devices but I believe in the future they command a large portion of the market they will implement this widget.

Automatically Track Hardware Changes

A system, because it would need to be a universal standardized thing, that keeps track of the devices and hardware a particular person is using. The system would send that data to a central repository where companies can freely access it. This allows two things:

1. Tech support would be much much much easier because now a person's entire hardware profile is known. Potentially this could be extended to software as well.

2. And this is the brilliant bit: this gives everyone real-time number of what platforms are being used, by whom and where.

The second thing was spawned when I got an Android phone to replace my iPhone. I found myself suddenly writing emails to every app maker and hardware manufacturer requesting they support Android. With this system in place, such requests would be moot as now companies can see exactly how big of a market a particular device commands.
