There are rumors of Visa's payWave being susceptible to identity theft. The robber simply uses a mobile RFID reader to scan for important info then uses it to charge the cardholder's account. I feel like this might be a problem in the future so I've invented a solution before it become actually becomes a widespread problem.

When I bought my EZ Pass it came with a nifty plastic-ish bag that a user could store the unit in when not in use. This bag is also used to prevent the unit from reflecting frequency so the user could pay with cash if they so desired. My invention takes this material and lines it in a wallet. This way a RFID transaction can only take place when the card is outside the wallet making identity theft a little harder.

Since RFID is expected to flood our lives in the future I think starting with a wallet, since the problem exists now, then expand into other accessories when other gadgets become equipped with RFID is a good way to break into and be first to market.

RIFD Elevator Floor Remember-er

I was typing an email when I got on the elevator at the parking deck today so I forgot where I parked on the way back. This gave me an idea to think about while i was trying to find my vehicle (in the cold, btw).

When RFID becomes commercial there should be RFID stations that automatically share information with devices i.e. elevator floors and airport parking shacks. This way you have a record of where and when you passed this object.

RFID: The Trash Receptacle Paradox

With RFID on the horizon I keep hearing about how cool it will be when your refrigerator is aware of what is inside of it.

Yeah, that's a great idea but can we think of something else RFID can be used for around the house? How about RFID Trash Receptacles because I sometimes forget if I've misplaced something or have thrown it away. Or what about an RFID clothing system that aggregates clean matching outfits (could be the future of Eric's first post 001/365 "Does this make me look fat?")?

I guess the original task of RFID was tracking inventory so we haven't yet looked into what else it can do.

Can an active RFID signal be repeated over long distances? Can it be copied? Can RFID be constantly pinged?

I'd love to see the day when RFID in humans is commonplace and our devices will only be operated by those individuals with the proper RFID signature.

I'm interested to know that when everything human and machine has an RFID tag and a receiver is that the point when computers become aware? If your trash receptacle know when you're near and when you're away will it miss you?
