Hey Cydia developers, can you make an app that allows you to invite another person access to the SSH on your own device from their device? I like using cydia apps but sometimes I don't feel confident when messing with things on the development level. And I'm not always near someone who is confident doing it so they either have to walk me through it or i have to delve into it by myself.

Auto Insurance On-demand
If you watch cable television, at any time you'll see a slew of cut-rate insurance commercials e.g. Gieco, General, Nationwide, Progressive, etc. Individuals can no longer afford full coverage so these companies offer coverage at the state minimum which brings up an interesting concept for a new type of coverage.
A driver could possibly drive without auto insurance indefinitely as long as they a. don't get pulled over and b. don't get into an accident. It is under these situations when it becomes illegal to be an uninsured driver (it's not illegal until you get caught). My thoughts are that with all this technology why should anyone need to pay per month for auto insurance?
What I'm suggesting is auto insurance coverage only when you need it. Sign up at any time for service on a mobile app, then when/if you get pulled over just confirm the cost of on-demand coverage and get proof of insurance before the police officer is even out of his/her car.
Obviously, the cost of on-demand coverage would be substantial but less than that of the penalty for not being insured.
If an individual drives for 1 year uninsured without ever getting pulled over or in an accident they save around $1,600 (2010 average).

Programmable iPhone Battostat App
How bout home thermostats that you can program to drop the heat/cold through out the day/night to save on heating/cooling bills? Pretty much a no brainer for the cost, I would say.
Why not have a 'thermostat' for an iPhone; I call it a Battostat. This would be an app that you can preset to kill certain apps at certain times, wake them up and make them live when you need them, and cut your screen brightness at certain times through out the day. This would all be set for the main purpose of saving your precious iPhone battery. I sure as hell dont need my facebook, twitter, and email updating through out the night. I also dont need my screen burning out my retinas while I'm laying in bed blogging for cellPIG.com. Yup, the pigs an oinkin genius.

Google Maps Nearby Location Notification
Within the Google Maps app a user should have the ability to enter locations they wish to be notified about when their proximity is near. Within the app the user should be about to search for existing locations and change the proximity of notification for each listing. For example, when I'm traveling I would like to be updated when I am near a Starbucks without physically searching for it.

Web Apps, Where's the Beef?

1. The Mac OS does not allow placement of web apps on the dock.
- How hard would it be to add this feature to the OS? I mean Apple already uses this technology in the iPhone. Seems a bit fishy. Is this another attempt by Apple to stifle innovation for control? Maybe when the allure of the iPad wears off they'll add this feature to their other products.
- For example, I no longer use iOS Mail instead I use the Gmail web app but the Gmail web app does not alert me when I have a new email. Without that feature it makes that web app kind of pointless. Example two, same thing goes for google voicemail web app. The only way I know that I receive a VM is when I get an email with the VM in it. Now, I don't need the web app at all.
Now, I don't know a lot about development but these two things seem to be overlooked in the Web 2.0 conversion. I bet a dev could write an app that allows for web apps to be integrated into a Mac's desktop Dock and write a preifirial app that notifies you when one of your web apps is updated on an iPhone. Where is that dev?

Auto Trader App / Multiple Region Search on Craigslist
Can someone make an iPhone app for Autotrader.com already!?
The web-based app works okay but it's clumsy and modifying a search is difficult. I'm sure in-app advertisements along with the preferred search results would quickly justify the cost of development.
Also, craigslist should give users the ability to perform multiple region searches. It's ludicrous to make a user go to a different site (owned by a different company) to find desired results from your own database! Take a lesson from the "new" twitter, they implemented search into twitter.com instead of forcing users to navigate to search.twitter.com. You won't listen though. I know you.

I Want While You Wait
The need: I want something but do not want to wait in line for it.
The solution: A web/mobile app that allows you to post what you want, where to wait, and your compensation. The "waiter" can choose your terms or negotiate with you.
Example: I want the new Apple iDevice on launch day. I post this and someone agrees to wait in line for me. We agree on a price of $50/iDevice/sex. Everyone wins!
