Apple MagSafe to 30 pin Adapter

044/365

This could be used to dually charge any MacBook, iPod (less the shuffle), iPhone or iPad from the same brick charger. The user simply snaps the female-MagSafe-to-male-30-pin adapter to the existing male MageSafe connector extending from the brick charger to charge any Apple device.

Note: I'm not sure if this will work because of the power consumption needed for a MacBook as opposed to the other devices.

I think the USB port puts out 5 volts; I'm not sure about the amperage. I'm pretty sure the AC adapter puts out something greater than that. You'd have to have circuitry to regulate that.

I think in the case of the Apple brick it regulates based on the draw of the system. For example, when you connect a MacBook to a MacBook Pro's brick it changes to accomodate the device.

I got this from a very reliable source, "The Apple brick certainly has the current capacity and a voltage rating suitable for regulation down to 5VDc @1A to charge iPhone, iPad & iPod. The biggest issue would be heat dissipation from the regulator." Thanks, reliable source.
