Counting calories gets tedious. Counting calories in addition to fat, sodium, vitamins, iron, etc. verges on the edge of "I just want to kill myself". We all can't hire a personal nutritionist that can plan meals for us with specific requirements in mind but we can write a program to do this. Imagine giving your phone the amount of calories you need, the maximum amount of fat you should consume, etc. in a day and in addition to that, what you want to eat. Say you're in the mood for chicken for lunch and fish for dinner. The app should find appropriate recipes that match all that. This saves you the time to hunt for recipes that are healthy and it saves you from having to count those calories.
